Pre-Master Bootcamp

Academic preparation and progression support for students entering U.S. graduate classrooms.

Pre-Master Overview

What is the Pre-Master Boot Camp?

The Pre-Master Boot Camp (PMBC) is an academic preparation program developed by HYP Global specifically for international students, designed to meet the graduate-level standards of U.S. universities.

The program offers 10+ courses spanning undergraduate academic foundations and a range of interdisciplinary, professionally applied subjects. Beyond strengthening students' academic knowledge, PMBC is designed to develop the English communication skills, academic research techniques, and collaborative abilities that international students need to thrive in U.S. graduate classrooms — and beyond.

The program runs 10–12 weeks and is delivered entirely via live online instruction, supported by a dedicated learning management system that ensures a seamless and engaging experience for both instructors and students.

PMBC is officially recognized by multiple prestigious U.S. universities. Students who are accepted into the program receive a conditional offer of admission to their target master's program, which is converted to a full offer upon successful completion of PMBC. As of 2026, the Pre-Master Boot Camp has completed 7 successful cohorts, with over 350 students having made a successful transition into graduate-level study.

Who Should Apply for the Pre-Master Boot Camp?

Students Applying to a Master's Program Outside Their Undergraduate Major

If you are switching fields for graduate school, PMBC helps you bridge the academic gap and meet the prerequisite requirements of your target program.

Students with a Lower GPA or a Less Competitive Academic Profile

If your GPA or overall academic background falls below the direct admission threshold, PMBC strengthens your profile and opens doors that might otherwise be closed.

Students Who Want to Hit the Ground Running in a U.S. Master's Program

If you want to walk into your first graduate seminar feeling prepared and confident — not overwhelmed — PMBC gives you the academic foundation and classroom skills to thrive from day one.

Students Looking to Secure a Master's Offer Before the Regular Application Cycle

If you want to lock in your graduate school admission early, PMBC provides a conditional offer pathway that gives you certainty and a head start on your peers.

Students Aiming for a Top-Ranked U.S. University

If your dream is a prestigious U.S. institution, PMBC gives you the competitive edge — strengthening your academic profile and connecting you directly with our partner universities, including Lehigh, SCU, UCI, and more.

Graduates of PMBC receive an official academic performance report that can be included as part of a broader application package — giving you an additional credential to support applications to other universities.

How Is the Program Structured?

During the program, students will:

  • 10–12 weeks in duration, typically comprising 3 courses

  • 4–5 live sessions per week, each approximately 2 hours

  • Classes are held on weekday evenings and weekends

  • If scheduling conflicts arise due to academic or work commitments, students may request to opt out of live sessions and complete the coursework through recorded lectures instead

  • The program is supported by a comprehensive teaching and learning management system, with a dedicated academic coordinator available to assist with any questions throughout the program

  • Student performance is assessed through a combination of attendance, class participation, assignments, and quizzes. Specific evaluation criteria may vary slightly by course.

How Do We Ensure Program Quality?

  • All courses and faculty are developed in alignment with graduate-level academic standards, and are reviewed and approved by our partner universities

  • All sessions are recorded and learning activity is tracked within the learning management system — available for review and revision by students, and subject to oversight by partner universities

  • The curriculum is updated annually to ensure students are equipped with the most current knowledge and skills in their field

  • Student performance is evaluated and graded in accordance with university-approved course syllabi

  • All instructors hold doctoral degrees in their respective fields and undergo annual performance evaluations

  • We actively welcome feedback from students, instructors, and partner universities at any time, and are committed to making timely improvements based on the input we receive
