About the PMBC Program
Official PMBC website:
https://www.scu.edu/engineering/graduate/hyppmbc/
The Pre-Master Boot Camp (PMBC) is an online preparatory program designed for students intending to pursue graduate study at the SCU School of Engineering.
The program helps students strengthen both technical foundations and academic readiness prior to beginning their master’s degree studies.
Delivered fully online over approximately 10 weeks, PMBC allows students to participate during their senior undergraduate year while continuing their existing studies.
Students admitted into PMBC will also receive conditional admission to their target master’s program. Upon successful completion of PMBC coursework, submission of the formal graduate application, and fulfillment of admission requirements such as English proficiency scores, students may progress toward full graduate admission.
Sample PMBC Courses
Course offerings may include:
- Technical Communications
- Modeling Concepts
- Circuit Design
- Data Structures and Algorithms
- C Programming
- Engineering Mathematics
- Data Analytics with Python & R
- Introduction to Computer Science
Recommended Admission Profile
Applicants are generally encouraged to meet the following academic standards:
- GPA around 3.0
- TOEFL 79 / IELTS 6.5 / Duolingo 105
- English scores may be submitted after PMBC application submission
- Application fee: USD 100
Program Timeline
Fall PMBC
September – December
Application deadline: September 1
Spring PMBC
